Once the inventory is added to the Pharmacy module, medicine is available for prescription orders added by Doctors. When a doctor creates a prescription, they can choose any appropriate medicine. At the same time, they can also see the available stock in the clinic’s pharmacy. It helps the doctor prioritize prescribing medicines that are currently in stock. As a result, patients get their treatment immediately without delays or the need to visit an external pharmacy.

The following operations are completed by Doctors.
Prescribe Medicine from Appointments
- Navigate to the Schedule tab and pick the necessary appointment.
- Click the Start Appointment button to start the visit.
- Follow the visit flow and switch between required tabs to fill in the different patient health details.
- When you need to prescribe medicine, navigate to the Prescription tab.
- Choose the medicine from the dropdown menu that also shows the Item Name, Stock Availability, and Unit Price.
- Fill in other prescription instructions, including Route, Dosage, Dosage Type, Frequency, Duration, Food Relation, or additional comments, and click the + Add New Record button to make the prescription order.
- The prescription with details and real-time order status (Pending, Completed, Out of Stock) is added to the patient records. It also automatically appears in the Pharmacy module.
💡Notes
Each medicine appears as a separate record. If you need to prescribe other medications, continue adding new records.
- If you need to view the previous patient’s prescriptions, click Show All Past Prescriptions.
Prescribe Medicine from EMR
- Navigate to the Patient tab, pick the required patient from the list, and click Edit.
- Click the Prescription tab.
- Pick the medicine from the dropdown menu that shows the Item Name, Stock Availability, and Unit Price.
- Fill in other prescription instructions, including Route, Dosage, Dosage Type, Frequency, Duration, Food Relation, and additional comments, and click the + Add New Record button to make the prescription order.
- View all of the patient’s medicine prescriptions, ordered by date, with real-time medicine status updates (Pending, Completed, Out of Stock).
View the Prescription Details
- All prescriptions are automatically sent to the Pharmacy module and appear in the patients’ records for doctors’ and nurses’ review. Open the detailed view to check prescription details.
- View medicine prescription details.
- Click the Print button to print or save the record.
- Print the medicine prescription instructions using the browser’s print options to hand to the Patient.
- Medicine prescriptions added during the visit also include the Show Visit button to review other visit details.
